Figure Drawings
This is a Diptych done in Charcoal on Canson Mi Tientes paper (it's actually a very light blue paper) done several years ago, of a woman looking into her bedroom mirror while putting on earrings, drawn in what was my actual bedroom. The model is fictitious however. Posting these prompted thoughts about working with real models so I figured this was a good place to post some of my favorite Life Drawings from my student days
Same Model, Different Class
These were done in studio class on the same day. The first was a quick 10 minute study. The second was longer...an hour...I think, but not sure.
this was a longer study too. Now I'm going to have to dig out the Pastel Life drawings from my student days too! In fact maybe I'll post all figure studies before I began posting anything else. If you see anything you like and it's not already available in the image kind store, send me an email. I'll put it there for you.

History Paintings
Well, when I started this blog and made the first post back in June of 2007 I had been at home for 4 months due to a car accident, but when I went back to work I had no time to do anything artistic. I started the new job that June and had been occupied learning the ends and outs of that. But, here are the three History paintings created late 2006 and early 2007. The first two were exhibited in our university's senior exhibition, The 1st is titled "Rodney King Engages the L.A.P.D." (18X24), the 2nd is "911, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee"(16X20), both are acrylic, and the 3rd "O.J. Trial of the Century" (30X40), is an oil painting all are on streched canvas. There is a 4th an larger painting currently untitled, depicting the Katrina hurricaine that was begun late 2006 and is sitting waiting for further inspiration. I guess I need to take a picture and just post it unfinished. It's been 3 1/2 years!
Still Life: Fruit
9 X 12 oil on canvas
These are paintings given to my childhood friend when I went to Chicago to visit her last summer, they are 9X12 oil on canvas. These Still Lifes were set up on a tray table in my livingroom. The light was from a floor lamp. It was archaic but simple and I really liked the result. I almost wish they were bigger though. Maybe I'll do some more on streched canvas and make them larger.
Elemental Spirits
(Air...to date unfinished
posted by request)
Fire, Earth, Water, all 9x12 acrylic on canvasboard, there is a 4th..."Air"
I didn't really get to paint today which is a real no...no... I've heard that you need to paint everyday if you want to really get your art to where you want it. I did paint over the weekend however and the day isn't over so I'll try to do something before I lay down. But I have been going over some of my old images in preparation to post on this site so I thought I would post a series that I started about 4 years ago. The Spirits of the elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. I just realized I don't have a digital image of the painting for Air Spirit stored in my computer!! I thought I had digitized everything. Well I'll post it later. These are all in acrylic and were begun and painted over the course of my first year of Art School in 2003.

This is the Logo that I developed a few of years ago when I was doing commisioned portraits and I'm kind of partial to it so I guess I'll keep it. I bought the 2006 Artists Market yesterday and started going through that. My goals as I see them today are:
1. Promotion-Get my name and work out there.
2. Network-participate in illustration websites, artwalks, and other artists venues.
3. Market-Update portfolio and send to market listings
Sounds like a plan dosen't it! My problem is going to be to stick to the plan with everything else I have going on( i.e. full time job, family, school...etc.)
